Encouraging resources, a book celebration, and a giveaway! 📚🎉
Hi my friend!
Today, I want to share a few favorite resources, have a little celebration of Embracing This Special Life being out in the world for six years this month, and have a few giveaways in honor of the celebration!
Favorite Resources from Embracing Life:

I hope these resources encourage you!
Two Verses for You:
Lately, when I’ve been feeling weary with the never-ending challenges of special needs parenting, when the grief and discouragement creeps in, when the anxiety and worry becomes paralyzing, when the comparison begins, I’ve been reminding myself:
“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
May these verses recenter and refocus you, reminding you that we have a good and faithful God on our side. It’s ok to grieve, to ask God questions, to pour out our tears and our honest prayers before Him. And in return, He will generously and faithfully provide you with hope, joy, strength, courage, perseverance, and peace that can only come from Him.
Embracing This Special Life Book Celebration + Giveaways!
My book Embracing This Special Life, is celebrating six years of being out in the world this month!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to write a book. I just never imagined it would be about learning to flourish as a mother of not one, but two children with special needs. But God.
A few years after both of my sons received several diagnoses, God began teaching me about things I needed to embrace fully in my life. My role as a mother. My children and not just their diagnoses, but their progress, their personalities, their gifts and strengths, and their hearts. This special needs journey. Myself. My husband. And most importantly, God and His mysterious, yet trustworthy ways.
And then God began teaching me you can’t just keep embracing and holding onto things. You also have to surrender some things too. So I began the process of surrendering my will, my desires, my expectations, my doubts, my negative emotions, my worries and anxieties, and more to the Lord.
All the things God started teaching me made their way into my book Embracing This Special Life.
As I was learning and writing about embracing this special life, God also began teaching me about the power of praying Scripture to help align my heart with His. And so a few years ago I started writing my second book, On the Same Page with God and it was just released on July 30th!
Both books have some of the same features:
My own vulnerable stories of struggles and challenges I had in my special needs parenting journey, and the hope and encouraging truths I found through them.
Biblical-based encouragement and quotes from other faith-based books.
Scriptures to pray. (In On the Same Page with God, there are Scripture prayers at the end of each chapter. In Embracing This Special Life, there are Scriptures to pray for your child(ren) with special needs at the end of the book).
Discussion/reflection questions—making these great books to read and discuss with a friend, small group, or support group. (In On the Same Page with God discussion questions are at the end of the book. In Embracing This Special Life they are at the end of each chapter.)
