Hi Friend!
As the new school year approaches, (or maybe it’s already started for you and your family) I’ll admit, I start to feel anxious and my mind starts whirling with questions. Will our kids have good teacher(s)? Make good friends? Are they prepared for the school year? Will they get all the support they need? Have I done enough to prepare them? Will they do ok? Did we make the right decision regarding public/private/homeschooling?
When I find myself feeling anxious about my kiddos and their upcoming new school year, I am trying to turn my worries into prayers. I try and pray for my children daily, but to be honest, I pray for them much more fervently as the new school year approaches and for the first few weeks of school as we all adjust to our new routines.
At the beginning of each school year I find myself living out the verse in Lamentations:
“Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.
Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your children.”
Lamentations 2:19
If you also want to entrust your worries and your children into God’s loving, capable arms, here’s a list of 25 Scriptures to help you pray God’s Word for your child and their school year:
